ABOUT THE PROJECT
This exhibition explores the origins of gold, its role in cultural development and technological progress, as well as traditional gold mining in Siberia and the latest innovations in the modern gold industry.
Visitors will have the opportunity to trace the entire "life cycle" of gold—from the formation of deposits and geological exploration to the smelting of bullion. Anyone interested can even hold a model gold bar. Additionally, guests can take part in the interactive game "Gold is Near", allowing them to experience the role of a real gold miner.
The exhibition features ore samples from Polyus deposits in the Irkutsk region, drill cores, polished rock sections, assay crucibles, and scale models of gold processing equipment, including a vibrating screen and a ball mill. Visitors will also gain insight into various professions related to these exhibits, such as core analyst, mine surveyor, automation specialist, and flotation operator.
